Had a lot of fun with this! Visual novels aren't really in my wheelhouse to begin with, so it was fun to branch out and give it a shot.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS:
Would like to see some of the early story points expanded on - namely the brief mention of heirs disappearing. Also thought the housekeeper might have had a role beyond the opening sequence, but that's really more of a sidenote and not detrimental to the story at all.
Overall, I feel like the story was executed well. It did seem to drag a bit in places, but that might just come down to a matter of personal preference. It was an engaging narrative and provided plenty of details early on to get the player invested in uncovering the mystery.
This is my first time playing Stillwater, and I am already hooked for the next adventure of Hugo. I really love the story of grief and forgiveness of the mystery with its uses of symbolism related to water and how well written the characters are. I love the illustrations of the game as well the uses of colors for certain scenes to convey its grief aspects, as well love seeing all of the concepts sketches of everything!
Absolutely love the remastered version! I wasn't too sure what else could be improved upon in the original but after playing through the newest version, I have to say I love the dialogue, extra scenes, added lore, and more professional graphics. Practically screamed when I saw a confirmed sequel in the creator's notes. Definitely looking forward to the next one!

and than.. the thing in the shadows, looming over the old--young man, silence..

This was a very well made game, especially since there was a limited time on creating it. I would've liked to see more routes, or maybe a point and click mechanic for the detective section, to break up the text aspect.
However for what there was, the story, characters, and dialogue lead a perfectly refined gameplay.
i really really loved the art and design, loved the overall feel of this visual novel! i wish it was longer and a bit more fleshed out, but as a short vn it was real nice! i'd love to see a bigger project with these characters :,)
I liked this one. In places it did felt a little bit rushed to me, but as I understand this was a Jam Entry.
Story is really intriguing and leaves to want more answers, and the art style - MAN i love the art style of this one. Got to see both endings, and one of those is really cute :з

Played this on stream and enjoyed it thoroughly. I absolutely love the art style and character design. The atmosphere felt engaging and some parts were very eerie. Best of all, the story did not overstay its welcome. A very cool visual novel that captivated both myself and my chat~
got to play this game after paying for the queer games bundle 2023 and I really loved this game! It was short but haunting and man, I love how refined the whole vibe was <3 extra brownie points for our great buddies too! 10/10 if u want a fun short eerie story, go for it! I loved the music and the UI of the game :)

The art in this game is REALLY good, love the subtle changes in expression. Everything feels like it has movement.
Specific stuff I enjoyed:
Dusty particle effects in the office, bubble effects underwater.
I like that the car has a slight movement and the rain is actually moving too.
Great ambiance!! Incredible sound design, very immersive.
I loved the red text effect for the antagonist.
I learned a new word: moldering.
I really like the side menu, click to expand or condense.
My favorite Hugo line was "It's naptime now." LOL
Overall 10/10 experience!! I wanna see this adapted into a bigger story with more choices! :D
